We love salvaging old pieces of furniture that hold tons of character and history. We have a passion for bringing them back to life and taking pride in their flaws and restoring them to be enjoyed and cherished by new families.

VINTAGE: Representing what is best or most characteristic of somebody or something. CHARM: A quality that attracts others to oneself. RESTORATION: A term commonly used when describing an item that has undergone improvements such as new paint, yet is nothing like the original.

back.in.black

This was a custom order for an old friend of mine from High School. She is getting married soon and wanted to update their bedroom furniture. She wanted straight black and to keep the existing hardware - simple enough!

I love the way these turned out! Sanded, prepped and cleaned, painted, waxed. All done! And they are gorgeous!!

muslin.majesty

I love, love, love this piece!! We bought this at a really great antique store in Nashville and a new client of ours customized it. She loved the "muslin.china" we had done a few days earlier so she chose that color. She wanted it distressed pretty heavily and we decided to replace some of the hardware for a pop of color.

We sanded it down, painted two coats of Muslin, distressed it with 80 grit sandpaper, change out the hardware and then waxed it down for protection. This is one of my favorite pieces yet!

This was a custom order for a repeat client - we chose the color based on some awesome pillows from Pier One. She bought the coffee table from me and the end tables are her old night stands. They turned out to be great, clean lined tables with a touch of rustic, farmhouse feel.

We sanded them down, painted them, then sanded out all the details of the pieces and used a wood stain glaze to bring back in the dark wood tones - plus added some really cool new hardware that contrasted the piece perfectly. Finally, we finished it off with a wax paste for protection.

muslin.china

This was a custom order for a new client - this piece is one of my favorites yet. She wanted it ivory and distressed so I suggested this color Muslin by Sherwin Williams. It has become my favorite creamy ivory to use. It is the perfect blend of white and ivory without being too stark.

She told me to use my judgment on the distressing, so I chose to go with a medium distressing with some chippy spots. I love this piece and she does too! Her response made me smile from ear to ear, "so pretty you made me cry. i LOVE it!"

Thanks to my sweet hubby for making all the new holes for the hardware! Great job babe!

sew.blue

This was a custom order for one of my favorite ladies :) This is the second piece I have done for her and she is so sweet and so fun to work with! I hope to do many, many more for her!

The color is Silvermist by Sherwin Williams - a real pale blue, silvery color. She brought me a sham and had me pick out a few colors and we decided on this one! It turned out great. I sanded it, painted, and sanded down the edges and all the imperfections of the piece to bring out the history of this old sewing table then finished it off with a wax paste for protection. I brought out the details with a real light wood stain technique. It turned out beautiful and has already found a forever home in the guest bedroom!
